MO Highway Patrol announces 3 DWI saturations for August

Captain James E. McDonald, commanding officer of Missouri Highway Patrol Troop H announced that sometime during the month of August, Troop H in northwest Missouri will conduct three DWI Saturations that will encompass every county within Troop H.

The areas selected for enforcement are based on a high number of drinking related crashes, high degree of contact with intoxicated drivers, and officers input on probable contact with DWI violators.

Public Information Officer for Troop H, Sergeant Jake Angle, says that DWI Saturations involve selecting a county or counties to deploy additional troopers to, with the intent of cracking down on drunk drivers.

"We're specifically looking for violations that impaired drivers exhibit.  Obviously one of our highest priorities is removing impaired drivers from Missouri roadways.  They pose a hazard to themselves and other motorists.  Then we saturate those counties with obviously the intent of looking for all violations, but especially focusing in on driving while impaired."
